I aM HOMELESS AND WANT HELP

Where should I go/who should I reach out to for help? Where should I turn to if I find a homeless neighbor in need?
For immediate relief and general services, call 2-1-1 LA, or visit their website so you can be connected to a provider near you and based on your needs.

Also, there are access sites and in every community! Find the region where you are currently living under the menu of options under "Regional Information" section in the menu. Each community will have an access site listed that you can call for more information. Additional information is provided on that page to directly access the Family and Youth systems as well.

To seek assistance for an encampment you know of, please log your request at the Los Angeles Homeless Outreach Portal: www.la-hop.org.

If you are looking for a shelter for tonight call the LAHSA Shelter Hotline at 1-(800) 548-6047 to find an available bed and local pick up points.
What should I ask for/about to access the Coordinated Entry System?
Tell as much information you can about what you need and where you are currently living. They will decide if you need an "assessment" or "CES survey" based on what you share. No matter if you need a survey or not, they will work with you to find the help you may need.
What does the CES survey ask? Why do you need all this information?
The survey has questions about you, your life and your housing situation. All of the questions are confidential and used only by service providers to help match you to housing and services that fits your needs.
I don't know if I already did it. How can I find out?
Ask your case manager if you have one. Or, when you reach out to an organization near you tell them you think you did the survey and they can check!
I already took the survey, but should I do it again?
You do not need to keep taking the survey. Unless something has changed in your life, the results will be the same.
How long does it take after I get surveyed to get housing?
It depends! This is not a waitlist or a fist-come, first-serve system. This is a system that matches people in need to housing and services that fit their needs. Different types of housing becomes available at different times so we cannot say how long it will take. While you are waiting, stay connected to your case manager, keep working towards housing and know that we will too.
What if I am a homeless YOUTH (age 16-24)?
There is a coordinated system to end youth homelessness that is currently being developed. For a list of Youth CES providers and access sites in your area, please download this list of Youth CES leads.
What if I am a homeless FAMILY?
There is a network of Family providers in each region of LA County. Currently, the CES for Families system is accessible by calling 2-1-1 or visiting their website at https://www.211la.org/homeless-services
